Maree and I have just returned home after completing a brilliant two day 4WD course with Norm and Coralie from Pindan Tours and 4WD Training.
I have spent many years myself both teaching and being taught. I can say without doubt this was one of the best, most effective, and most enjoyable courses that I have done. Maree and I were at different levels of experience, which is always a challenge for the teacher.
However Norm managed to make it all work so well for both of us. Maree was quite nervous, never having been happy to drive our big 4WD previously but with Norm’s gentle guidance she was able to climb and descend steep and rocky Flinders Ranges tracks in high and low range, learning what all the “buttons” do. She successfully completed all the competencies she attempted including snatch recoveries bogged in sand both as driver and as coordinator. And most importantly she came away with so much confidence.
Prior to the course I had some previous 4WD experience but I still learnt a lot more than I expected and greatly increased my confidence as well.
The practical exercises were all excellent. Norm adapted well to each of us and constantly checked we were getting what we wanted and needed.
In particular we both liked the clever ways to work smarter when changing a wheel without having to strain and risk injury. Brilliant.
Overall Norm’s depth of knowledge and experience would be hard to beat. We had a great couple of days.
I thoroughly recommend Pindan 4WD training for anyone at any level.
You will enjoy it and your knowledge and confidence will significantly increase.
